Golden Hour Girl

Inspiration struck like lightning when looking at the soft yellow fabric I thrifted. I had to do something special with it, I was working with limited prime real estate. BUT didn’t want to screw it up.
I really only had one shot at trying something different.
I decided to use the pattern I created for the blue bell dress and play with it as I went along….
I didn’t love the button backing because every fabric behaved differently. Using this pattern with various thrifted fabrics means I have to be more fiddly with some, which results in time lost.
So why not try an adjustable back?
I personally love dresses for my daughter she can wear over 1 year. Most garments are for 6 months to 1 year which you only get such a short time out of it. Anything that’s adjustable I size up!
My daughter wears some things that are 2-3 years too big but can adjust, to get at least 3x longer with each piece in her wardrobe.
I made curved sleeves ?? Which was absolute torture to hem. But the result is so sweet, like little tulips petals.
I stripped a gorgeous 100% linen skirt of mine to make the lining of the two golden hour dresses. I am sooo beyond thrilled with how they turned out.
Really… I thought I loved the first iteration of the dress. This second one has stolen my heart!
